Persona of Lego Adult Consumer
Jenny, a 32-year-old private tutor from Seattle, lives with her husband and two young children. She’s currently redecorating her bathroom to combine a modern, minimalist style with fun elements for her kids.

We wanted the LEGO faucet to match LEGO's aesthetics: minimalistic, modular, and geometric, with dark colors and pops of bright accents for a mature look.

Faucet Components Study
For the Lego faucet set, I was assigned the 8-inch widespread faucet. I had to examine the internal and external components to design the faucet properly.
Main Components:

Faucet Spout – Delivers water to the sink

Aerator – Ensures smooth, splash-free water flow

Escutcheon Plates – Cover the gap around the base

Handle – Controls water flow and temperature

Valve – Regulates water flow/pressure

Form Ideation Sketches
During ideation, my team explored various faucet designs. I focused on the 8” widespread faucet, inspired by Lego’s adult sets,
aiming for a modern, sophisticated style. We incorporated Lego elements like modular, blocky shapes and studs.
Refining Top 3 Concepts
We explored three concepts: "Geometric Waterfall" with a waterfall spout, "Duplo," a kid-friendly design, and
"Stacked Blocks" with cube bases and colored studs. We chose "Stacked Blocks" for its modular appeal.

Developing Final Design
My team and I maintained a cohesive brand language with a blocky, geometric form, muted tones, bright accents, and a proportional stacked-block design.
Fabricating Faucet Prototype
To create the prototype, I 3D printed the faucet pieces, applied bondo, sanded, primed, and painted them black. Then, I attached the color plates, added the logo, and assembled the faucet.

Since the faucet is made using a sand casting process, water will flow into the brass pipe and enter the chamber inside the spout.
